This piece references sacral energy — creative, sensual, warm, positive, and grounded, usually depicted in orange across cultural references.
 
I wanted this to feel like a surreal landmark, or a little earthen town on another planet. The form is an abstraction of the sacrum bone. It's ironic, really, how my medical anatomy history shows up in my practice today. I always reference the body but have never enjoyed traditionally figurative work. There's something more interesting to me in exploring where humanity blends into nature. It's how I believe we were meant to be.
