Methodist Celina Medical Center

Breathe
Celina, Texas — 2025
Commissioned by Skyline Art

Installed in the Emergency Room lobby, this work was developed with attention to evidence-based design principles appropriate for acute care environments. The palette transitions from green into blue and grey, selected for their stabilizing qualities. Blues with red undertones were intentionally avoided, as they can contribute to visual discomfort or nausea in clinical settings.

Originally designed at ten feet in width, the piece was reconfigured to fifteen feet after an architectural revision made the initial wall unavailable. The expanded composition was adapted to fit the new location while maintaining continuity in color and scale.

As with other healthcare installations, OSHA regulations required a strict maximum depth of four inches, including mounting hardware. The work was developed within that constraint.
