I couldn't find studio space so I got creative. Here's how I turned a storage unit into my studio! Check out the video below and read my answers to common questions I've gotten since sharing.
Supplies & Furniture
Let's get the easy question out of the way. Here's links to all the furniture and organizational pieces in the video. If I left anything out you're curious about, feel free to comment on this blog!
Common Questions
I tried my best to think of every question while making the video, but some definitely slipped my mind. Lucky me, the YouTube community doesn't shy away from the comments section! As always, leave a comment if there's something else you'd like to ask.
How big is the unit? 10' x 12' so 120 square feet.
Where is it? Dallas area. I don't give out the exact location for safety reasons! :)
Is it insured? Yes, I pay an additional $14 monthly through the insurance offered by the facility. It covers theft and damage as a result of the facility. At the time of recording, that was included in the $150. I have a separate policy for all of my artwork itself that covers shipping, damage by others and myself, etc.
Is it well ventilated? This one is. It's a very large building that's climate controlled. I don't have any high VOC materials. If I use spray paints or strong solvents, I step out and use the covered loading dock area.
That's it! I hope you found this helpful. You can subscribe to my monthly newsletter or YouTube Channel for more updates!
